Talmadge is an often overlooked neighborhood of the mid-city region of San Diego. The architecture in Talmadge is eclectic, with styles ranging from Spanish Revival to California and Cape Cod bungalows to Normandy Style homes. Cliff May, a renowned Southern California architect, designed several homes in Talmadge. I personally think Talmadge is one of San Diego's better kept secrets and has a strong sense of community as seen by its annual block parties and neighborhood watch. Neighboring College Area (the college being San Diego State) also offers a wide range of housing at lower price points.
